The Year Of The Horse Tarot Spread

Today I had a tarot spread, it got read to me in brief detail however I thought id share my reading with you all in more depth to understand how this currently sits in my current situ / circumstances!

The King Of Wands (Upright)

The king of wands upright represents visionary, leadership, bold actions and confidence. It’s about someone who sees the bigger picture and inst afraid to take charge and make it happen (it’s also a card that resonates more with a fire sign!)

Career & Finance– It encourages me to think long term and act with confidence, its not all about small steps, its about the bold moves which is backed with the strong beliefs.

Personal Growth- The king of wands asks me these 3 questions

  1. Are you leading your life or waiting for others?
  2. What bold vision are you ready to pursue?
  3. Where can you step up with confidence?

It’s about owning your power without becoming controlling.

Three Of Swords (Upright)

The three of swords upright usually indicates harsh but necessary truths and emotional pain its a big card on representing sorrow but also clarity that comes from facing the reality.

Career & Work- It can signal the need for emotional processing before moving forwards.

Personal Growth- with the reminder of 3 things

  1. Pain is real- dont suppress it
  2. Healing comes from feeling- not avoiding
  3. Clarity often comes from ♡break

It’s a card of emotional release, tears now can mean strength later.

Five Of Cups (Upright)

Five of cups upright represents disappointment, regret and focusing on loss, the feeling of mourning what went wrong and sometimes overlooking what remains, the core themes are dwelling on the past, finding it hard to see the positives and emotional disappointment.

Careers & Finance- It encourages learning from what happened instead of staying stuck.

Personal Growth- it asks me 3 things

  1. Are you focusing only on what went wrong?
  2. What is still standing in your life?
  3. Can you forgive yourself or others?

Its a reminder that grief is natural but healing begins when you shift your perspective.

The High Priestess

Represents intuition, hidden knowledge, inner wisdom and mystery, shes the card of subconscious, what you feel rather than what you see.

Career & Work- This card can also point to work involving spirituality, psychology or counselling.

Personal Growth– It asks 3 main things

  1. Are you ignoring your inner voice?
  2. What do you already know deep down?
  3. Can you sit with uncertainty instead of forcing answers?

She reminds me that not everything needs immediate actions, some things require stillness.

Eight Of Swords (Reversed)

Eight of swords, reversed represents mental release, breaking free and reclaiming personal power. Where the upright card shows feeling trapped, the reversed version signals that the blindfold is coming off…

Career & Finance- It encourages action, not just thinking about freedom but claiming it.

Personal Growth- it asks me 3 things

  1. What belief has been holding you back?
  2. Are you ready to remove the blindfold?
  3. What small steps would prove you’re not trapped?

This is a powerful card of empowerment, the prison door was never fully locked and now you see it.

Tarot Reflection: Control, Reality & Reclaiming Power

In this reading I pulled

  • The High Priestess
  • Three Of Swords
  • Five Of Cups
  • Eight Of Swords (R)
  • King Of Wands

At first, I saw this spread as a story about control. The King of wands felt like me- strong willed, fiery, stubborn, wanting to take leadership over my own struggles. I resonated with the confidence of believing I have everything handled. Theres a powerful energy in thinking “I won’t let this beat me. Im in charge”…. But the cards that followed challenged that certainty.

The Three Of Swords, represented hard truth, the painful realisation that control inst always as solid as it feels. It speaks to that moment where confidence meets reality, the recognition that I might be carrying more alone that I admit, that things may be slipping in ways I dont want to see…

Then came along The Five Of Cups, which I interpreted as potential regret, the emotional weight of looking back and wondering what I could have done differently to avoid it. It reflects the fear of dwelling on missed opportunities to reach out or accept the help sooner.. I see it as carrying disappointment but also seeing the perspective… even in grief and pain there is always learning.

At the centre of the reading sits the High Priestess… intuition. The quiet inner voice that already knows when something isn’t fully under control. This card felt like and invitation to look at the bigger picture rather than the staying locked into pride or fear, it reminded me that deep down I am very fully aware of what I need to do to avoid something scary.

Finally the Eight Of Swords (R), shifts the energy completely, to me it represents removing the blindfold and breaking free not just from circumstances but from rigid thinking.. it feels like reclaiming the power in a healthier way, not through stubborn independence but through acceptance, honesty and allowing the support.

This spread doesn’t feel like a prediction of failure. It feels like a warning against isolation and a reminder that true strength isn’t about proving I can handle everything alone, its recognising when leadership means asking for help, choosing clarity over control and ultimately, its about freedom, the kind that comes from facing reality rather than fighting it…

ALLLLL of this resonates so much in the tricky position im sat in right now (currently sat with my jaw dropped).
